It has come to my attention that Maurice Jarre, film composer of many David Lean films including Bridge Over The River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia, has passed. It should also be noted that this came from the management of his son, Jean-Michel, who is not only a friend of this blog but a friend to analogue lovers the world over. And in true nature vs. nurture controversy, it should be noted that Jean-Michel and his father had a nearly nonexistent relationship. And it should be noted that my father and I do have a relationship and he's now out of hospital. Yay! But, sorry JMJ. Here's a tribute to his son's musical genius and showmanship.
PS: This was shot in Houston, where I was born. If that means anything.
